A Breath Of Fresh Air – Ventilation (Peebles)
A well designed shed with good ventilation can reduce the risk of respiratory diseases and poor animal performance which is associated with such diseases. The ventilation meeting being held at Shiplaw Farm by kind permission of the Walker family where we will look at good shed design and low cost adaptations which can be made to sheds with poorer designs.
Speakers:
- Jim Campbell will be speaking on how to assess good ventilation in livestock sheds and methods of improvement.
- Graeme Rodger (Armac Vets) will speak on respiratory diseases associated with livestock housing and the importance of preventing outbreaks.
- Mary Young will talk on rationing of suckler cows and calves and the importance of analysing your silage analysis.
As this is an on farm event please remember to wear warm/clean clothing and footwear suitable for disinfection.
