Argyll Women in Agriculture Group: Managing Sheep Flocks

The first of our new Tiree Women in Agriculture events will focus on a year with sheep, grassland management and record keeping.

Across two days we will be joined by SAC Sheep and Grassland Consultant, Poppy Frater where we will cover a variety of topics under the above themes.

Saturday 21st: We will focus this session on sheep and the annual management requirements for a flock including nutrition, condition scoring and health management.

Sunday 22nd: The morning session will focus on livestock record keeping. A refresher on what is required and some top tips to ensure you have no issues should you be selected for a livestock inspection. The afternoon session will be Grassland focused.

There will be practical, outdoor sessions as well as indoor, theory lead sections.
