Organic and small-scale growers tend to see fewer pest and disease problems than large commercial growers do, because they usually grow small amounts of lots of different things; diverse cropping is one of the best strategies to prevent pest and disease attack. However, a few particular pests and diseases still have the potential to wreak havoc. This evening, Dr Audrey Litterick will outline the pests and diseases that are most likely to cause problems in small horticultural enterprises and will talk about general and specific prevention and control strategies.
