Crops and Soils Focus Group – Buchan and East Banffshire

The Crops and Soils Focus Group provides an opportunity to get together with growers in your local area to discuss the latest developments within crops and soils helping to improve the profitability and resilience of your business.  The meeting looks at the use of digestates and distillery waste, both in terms of their values as a fertiliser and crucially how best to utilise them. The increasing availability and interest in these products locally means that an understanding of their potential benefits and pitfalls is key to optimising the opportunities they offer.

Expert Audrey Litterick will discuss the various types being offered to local farmers. She will also review the analysis of some products recently delivered to participants, looking at the true value of each in monetary and nutrient terms and also how best to use them in terms of timing, recipient crop and application method.
