Lanarkshire Soil & Nutrient Network – Third Meeting

Event Details

Address: Ayr Road, Larkhill ML9 2TZ

Putting nutrient budgeting into practice.

The third meeting of the Soil and Nutrient Network farm will focus on putting into practice the nutrient budgeting principles learnt at previous meetings.

Calculations from the first meeting showed that at Crumhaugh farm there were potential savings of £1000/year over the silage ground alone through correctly matching fertiliser application to soil requirements and taking the value of slurry and manure into consideration.

Jennifer Brown & Elaine Watt from SAC Consulting will lead this practical meeting to demonstrate how you can easily calculate your on farm nutrient requirements in order to make savings on fertiliser. They will also include a fertiliser price update from the trade.
