Woodlands – Managing existing farm woodland and future opportunities – Newton Stewart

The Scottish Government aims to create 10,000Ha of new woodland per year as well as managing existing woodlands sustainably.

In order to achieve this, a budget of £252 million has been created via the forestry grant scheme.  This meeting will be split into two sessions each of which focusing on different parts of how the forestry grant scheme can help.

The morning session will look at managing existing woodlands on your farm leading on to felling licenses and then restocking opportunities.   The afternoon session will focus on new woodland creation.

Our guest speakers for the event are David Eadie, a Forestry consultant with SAC Consulting and Alexander Pirie, an Agricultural and biodiversity consultant with SAC Consulting.
