Recognising and Mapping Habitats: Extensive Farms
Upland farmlands support a wide range of different habitats, from heather moorland, to wetland flushes. These habitats work together as a mosaic providing homes to a diversity of species. Join us at Carloonan Farm Inverary – 14th September for a workshop on how to recognise and map habitats on your farm
Agricultural policy is changing and the wide range of benefits that farmland habitats provide is becoming increasingly recognised. This workshop will focus on how to recognise and map habitats on your farm. The event is aimed to support land managers their farm. To qualify for payments from 2025 land managers will be required to deliver a whole farm plan composed of soil testing, animal health and welfare declaration, carbon audit, biodiversity audit and supported business planning.
