We will meet at Balwherrie Farm for the 3rd and final event for the Stranraer Soil & Nutrient Network.
The event will begin with a roundup of the changes being made at Balwherrie as a result of this 12-month project and the outcomes from our on-site lime trials. The remainder of the day will consist of a number of workshops covering the topics below.
- Crop choices – how can crop choices fit in with climate change, and how can you choose the right crops/grass varieties for your farm?
- Slurry management – we will have a practical slurry demonstration looking at the impact DM content has on the value of slurry, application rates and what future legislation could mean for slurry applications.
- Fertiliser sower calibration & using technology – we will demonstrate how to calibrate your fertiliser sower and explore how the use of technology can improve the efficiency of your fertiliser applications.
This event is free to attend and open to all. Find meeting notes from the two previous events here.
