South West Dairy Focus Group – Benefits of a Carbon Audit
Carbon footprinting helps you to quantify the level of greenhouse gas emissions from the farm business.
Acting on this information not only helps minimise emissions, but it can also provide significant efficiency and economic benefits at the farm level. Each group member will undertake a carbon audit using AgRE Calc © software, the results from which will be compared amongst the group and any potential efficiency improvements identified.
Improving on-farm efficiencies through better use of inputs strongly correlates with reduced production costs per litre of milk leading to improved profitability for the farm business.
