Tackling the Rush Invasion – Isle of Lewis
Do you have a problem with rushes? Are they invading your grazing, and difficult to control?
This event is targeted at crofters who are looking of ways to improve long-term grazing of rush infested land.
The day will cover
- what is needed to address waterlogged, acidic soil; including soil type and analysis
- reseeding
- liming
- drainage
- rush management
- grazing management
- the timing of all these operations.
There will also be discussion on grant options and to look at practical issues in the field.
