Westhill & District Discussion Group: Grass & Ice Cream – How do you like Yours?

Kicking off this series of  of autumn and winter meetings for the group, this meeting will take a look at Glasgoforest, Kinellar.

The Willis family have built an award winning dairy farm business, and over the years have built up a few firsts – First organic dairy farm in Scotland & first farm to sell milk via vending machines in Scotland.

This visit intends to look at how William manages his grassland organically to maximise output, and see what tips can be gathered to improve grassland management on group members own farms, following his earlier vlogs on the FAS website and hear how they have diversified into direct marketing of their produce (milk, yoghurt & icecream), They have also become a local hotspot for the sale of other organic produce (e.g.bread & eggs)
