Kilmuir Crofting Club – Final Winter Meeting
Join us for the last event of the winter season, focusing on one of the most important topics facing crofting and rural businesses today, succession.
We are delighted to welcome the following speakers:
- Ross MacKenzie, M & D MacLeod Funeral Directors
- Jock Gibson of Farmstrong, Edinvale Farms and Macbeth’s Butchers
Jock is a partner, alongside his wife Fiona, in Edinvale Farms and is Managing Director of Macbeth’s Butchers in Forres. An engineer to trade, Jock took over Macbeth’s in 2007, with Fiona and Jock taking on the farm in 2015. Edinvale Farms is Pasture for Life certified, breeding and finishing Highland and Shorthorn cattle for Macbeth’s. The business supplies hotels, restaurants, and private customers across the country, and supports other farmers and crofters through a cutting and packing service to help them direct market their own produce.
Together, our speakers will share practical insight around planning for the future, passing on businesses, and protecting family and crofting legacies. A timely and important evening for all ages.
