Lothian Women in Agriculture – Dinner, Discussion and Connection

Book event

Join the Lothians Women in Agriculture group for an evening of dinner, discussion and connection.

After a relaxed dinner, we will be joined by Julie McLaren from Women in Agriculture Scotland, John Davidson from NFU Scotland and Kate Rowell, farmer and chair of QMS.

Julie McLaren is the current vice chair of Women in Agriculture Scotland, and will join us to tell us about the organisation, and their mentoring scheme. John Davidson is the CEO of NFUS and will share some insights into the work that NFUS does and discuss how they are aiming to increase diversity within the organisation. We are also joined by Kate Rowell, who has run her family beef and sheep farm near Peebles for over 20 years and spent 7 years as a veterinary surgeon.

Kate is Chair of QMS, sits on the Board of Moredun Research Institute, is a member of the Scottish Government’s Agricultural Reform Implementation Oversight Board and is a Commissioner on the UK Government’s Trade and Agriculture Commission.

The evening will be a chance to hear from other organisations, and their shared experiences of putting themselves forward for roles and committees.

Dinner is included so pre-booking is essential.

All are welcome!
