Pesticide News – December 2020
10 December 2020With the uncertainty surrounding Brexit on so many levels, there has been some clarity regarding the future and current registrations and approvals of plant protection products (PPPs) from the UK Government.
The same products will be available as now. You should continue to use only authorized PPPs and follow the instructions on the label. This will ensure the food that you produce meets the MRL requirements in the domestic market. If your produce is intended for export, then you and your buyers should ensure you understand the MRL requirements in your target markets as these could diverge from the GB rules.
Existing PPP authorisations remain valid until their current expiry date. Active substance approvals due to expire before December 2023 will be extended for 3 years to allow time for the necessary evaluation work.
