Selling Light Lambs

There are some markets for light lambs, down to 36 kg liveweight. At £4/kg deadweight at 15 kg carcass gives a return of £60 per head.

The other important event Eid al-Adha. For this festival Muslims are looking for entire male lambs, at any liveweight with the peak of slaughtering being in the week starting 13th August. (Mature rams are not acceptable.)

These both offer producers a great opportunity to reduce stock numbers and build up grass for autumn flushing. Contact your agent now.
