Argyll Discussion Groups
The Argyll Discussion Groups are made up of forward thinking farmers and crofter from the Argyll islands of Mull and Islay. For the 2020 season of meetings, a theme for these groups was to identity and make better use of information and data they have on farm to help them make business decisions.
A Key Performance Indicator (KPI) tool was then designed to make use of the existing on-farm/croft information that should be easy to find. It’s a good starting point for analysing your business and will allow you to focus on the aspects of your business that need improvement. The tool covers 6 key topics: business, suckler cows, hill ewes, grassland and the environment.
The KPI targets are linked to Argyll hill farming and crofting models and targets will be different for upland or lowground farming systems.
