Ayrshire Women in Agriculture visit to ‘We Hae Meat’

Book event

This is a WIA event, but all are welcome.

For our first Ayrshire Women in Agriculture meeting of the year, we are visiting Alex and Carlyn Paton from The Cairnhill Group, who run several local businesses based near Girvan.

Farming operations cover cattle finishing, potato growing, growing cereals for cattle feeding, growing wheat to sell to William Grants distillery and growing rye to sell to a local gas producing Ad Plant. The cattle on farm are reared and processed through their butchery business ‘We hae meat’ and their food service company ‘Cairnhill Farm’. The separate business ‘WHM renewables’ provides a significant amount of the energy required for the butchery business and Dalquharran Limited, a newer company covers housing and non-agricultural land.

For our visit we will have discussions with Carlyn and Alex about how their businesses have developed over the years and their visions going forward, a tour of the factory and renewables as well as a tour of the Dalquharran Estate.

Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. Booking is essential.
