Biodiversity Audit Meeting – Argyll: Cattle Collars
Join us on farm for a discussion on Biodiversity Audits and cattle with collars.
There will be an update on the Biodiversity Audit part of the whole farm plan so if you haven’t completed your Audit yet then come and get some tips directly from Scottish Government on how to do it plus an update on the changing rules and what’s coming next.
Land Managers now need to undertake two out of five potential audits, with all five audits necessary by 2028.
Biodiversity audits have the advantage of being something you can do yourself with a little time and understanding. Whether you’re new to biodiversity assessments or just looking for guidance, this workshop will give you tips on creating a habitat map of your farm and identifying key habitats.
We will also look at Aird Farm who are introducing cattle collars to their hill and hear how they use them. We will discuss ways to make this work on Argyll hill ground for the cattle and for biodiversity.
This workshop is free to attend and open to all farmers. We will be meeting at 12.30pm for lunch before we go and look at a local farm, expect to finish around 3.30pm.
Spaces are limited, so early registration is recommended.
Booking is also essential for catering purposes.
Please bring appropriate wellies and waterproofs as required.
