Biodiversity Audit Workshop Achiltibuie – Understanding the Whole Farm Plan
Learn how to identify the different habitats on your croft and map them online as part of your Biodiversity Audit!
The 2028 deadline for completing your Whole Farm Plan is approaching faster than you might think, and the Biodiversity Audit is a key part of the process. Whilst completing a biodiversity audit may seem daunting at first, it’s something you can do yourself once you know what to look for.
This practical workshop will help you identify the different habitats on your croft and show you how to map them online as part of your Biodiversity Audit.
Meet at the hall for a cuppa and an explanation of the Whole Farm Plan. We’ll then begin with a croft walk, where we’ll identify and discuss the range of habitats found. Using this as a practical example, we’ll then have a go at mapping these habitats together.
After the walk, we’ll head back to the hall, have lunch, then you’ll have the opportunity to work on your own habitat maps. If you’d like to make a start on your own Biodiversity Audit, please bring a copy of your croft map with you.
This workshop is free to attend and open to all crofter and smallholders. We will meet at 10.30am at Coigach Community Hall before setting off for the walk.
Part of the event will be held outdoors and involve walking over uneven ground.
Suitable footwear and clothing are essential.
Free to attend! Please book in advance for catering!
