Borders Grassland Roadshow – Grassland Management

Book event

We will be discussing the changes to grazing management and sward improvements, which have taken place at Overhowden, since Joss Jones took on the role of livestock manager in 2018.

The grazing management and sward improvement strategy at Overhowden is an essential part of reducing input costs and improving profitability.

Joss Jones will give us an overview of his grassland management and sward improvement strategy, which supports 880 ewes and 105 suckler cows.

Graham Lofthouse will explain some of the key grassland management practices, which are helping Joss to achieve his aims.

Andrew Best from Watson Seeds will explain some of the seed mixtures being used at Overhowden.

Angus Runciman, farmer and farm contractor, will provide a walkthrough of his 6m Vredo air seeder, which has been used to establish some of the long term grass leys at Overhowden.

This meeting is a “must not miss” for anyone interested in grassland management and sward improvement.

Booking is essential for catering purposes.
