Deer Farming – Hornby Castle & Dovecote Park

Book event

On Wednesday 30th October we will be holding a FAS Deer Farming meeting in Yorkshire.

In the morning we will visit Hornby Castle at 10:30am kindly hosted by deer farmer Roger Clutterbuck. Here we will discuss managing fixed grazing fields for calving hinds, other wintering options, and improving grass mixtures including the use of herbal leys and clover in swards.

After lunch, we will travel an hour further south to Dovecote Park (deer abattoir) for an open meeting for deer producers with Dovecote’s Richard Canvin (Chief Executive) and Laurie Ibbotson (Assisting Managing Director) to discuss the venison industry and year-round supply. Booking is essential.
