Herd Performance: Calving Efficiency Roadshow – Thurso
Calving interval and efficiency are important indicators of herd performance, hitting your targets in these areas can be influenced by a variety of factors.
This roadshow of meetings will provide you with industry experts discussing what can influence the heifer and cow getting back in calf. With changes to SSBSS upon us in 2025, managing calving interval to reach the target of 410 days will be at the forefront of management decisions on farms and crofts.
The events will look at three areas in particular: –
- Policy – what are the changes to SSBSS?
- Health – fertility in your cows and bulls
- Nutrition – influence on fertility
Come along and join us at Quarryside, Murkle at 12:30pm on Wednesday 25th June to hear from our local vets and SAC Specialists to ensure you are prepared for the changes ahead.
Lunch will provided at the start of the meeting, so booking is essential.
