Inverness Women In Agriculture – Diversification
All Women in Agriculture welcome at our summer meeting, on diversification opportunities and Agri-Tourism.
We are visiting the newly opened Shore Hotel in Balintore, recently restored by Fiona Scott and her family from Fearn Farm. The hotel now comprises 5 rooms and a restaurant, and is fast gaining a reputation for good food and a warm welcome.
After lunch, we head to Highland Fine Cheeses, where Rory will share the journey that Blarliath Farm has taken, how they developed into cheesemaking and see some of the processes in action.
If you are considering an Agri-Tourism Business, or are already running a diversified business, come along to discuss the varied opportunities, challenges and solutions.
The plan for the day is:
Meet at the Shore Hotel at 10.30am
Morning Talk & Lunch
Afternoon visit to Highland Fine Cheeses at 1.30pm
We’ll see how Fiona and Rory have:
- Embraced opportunities for diversification within Agri-Tourism
- Approached business planning and marketing
- Developed skills and sourced labour
- Developed their customer experiences
Lunch will be provided so booking is essential!
