Soil Association: Organic Arable in Practice at Balmakewan
The Soil Association are looking forward to welcoming farmers, growers and land managers to Balmakewan Farm, Laurencekirk, on Monday 27 July for a practical event exploring how organic arable farming can work in practice.
Hosted by Phil Swire, who will share his own journey from conventional to organic farming, the event also features expert speakers Dominic Amos (Cope Seeds & Grain), Adam Forrest (SAOS Ltd) and Adrian James (AHDB).
The day will cover:
🌾 Crop yields and market opportunities
🔄 Building effective crop rotations
🌿 Practical weed control strategies
🌱 The role of undersowing in organic systems
There will be plenty of opportunities to hear real-life experiences, ask questions and exchange ideas with fellow farmers.
