Sustainable Sheep Systems: Low Labour Input Genetics
In this webinar Daniel Stout, SAC Sheep Specialist, and Tim White, SIG, will discuss breeding for low labour genetics including lambing traits, worm resistance, tail length, dags and wool shedding.
Tim is a founding member of the Sheep Improvement Group (SIG) breeding a wool shedding composite maternal breed known as Exlana down in the south west of England. The group take a data driven approach to selection with EBVs, including worm resistance, driving genetic gain alongside strong selection pressure for functional low labour high welfare traits and wool shedding ability.
