Access the Highly Rated Government-Funded Mentoring Programme

If you’ve launched or taken charge of a farming or crofting enterprise within the last five years, the Farm Advisory Service offers up to four days of fully funded, one-to-one mentoring designed to help you succeed.
Working with an experienced mentor gives you access to practical insights, tailored advice, and industry knowledge that can make a real difference. Whether you’re navigating the challenges of starting up, planning for growth, or building confidence in unfamiliar areas, your mentor will be matched to your business needs and goals.

FAS mentors across Scotland are here to support you through the critical early stages—helping you build resilience, avoid common pitfalls, and develop the skills needed to thrive.

Through 2024/24, our mentees have detailed the benefits that the mentoring support has brought them. The most highly ranked benefits are:

• Livestock/crop improvements
• Better planning/decision making
• Improved soil or nutrient management
• Financial benefits from improved profit margin
• Financial benefits from reduced costs/overheads.
