Food & Drink Processing Scheme Scotland
24 April 2026The Food and Drink Processing Scheme Scotland is a Scottish Government grant scheme for food and drink businesses operating in Scotland, administered by Scotland Food & Drink. The capital funding programme has been designed to boost investment within Scotland’s food and drink processing sector, with applications now open until 12pm, Friday 15th May 2026.
Grants of up to £400,000 are available to cover up to 40% of a project’s costs.
This scheme is designed to support capital investment by food and drink businesses in Scotland to process agricultural produce into food and drink products.
Projects should improve your processing capability, capacity, productivity, and/or efficiency.
The scheme is competitive and successful applicants will need to demonstrate how the project contributes to at least one of the following two outcomes:
- Productivity and Economic Benefits: the business will become more productive, profitable, efficient or resilient (for example though increased capacity, automation, reduced waste, or improved margins).
- Economic Growth and Markets: the project will drive economic growth (for example, enabling new products, markets, contracts or exports).
The Scheme will also support projects that contribute towards the following outcomes:
- Net Zero and Sustainability
- Stronger Supply Chains
- Innovation
- Enabling a Healthy Population
- Collaboration/ Co-operation
