Funding to Support Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation on Farm

7 July 2026

Farmers and crofters across Scotland are facing increasingly variable weather, from prolonged dry spells to periods of heavy rainfall. Building resilience to these weather challenges, while reducing emissions and improving environmental performance, is becoming an essential part of running a productive and sustainable business.

The Farm Advisory Service (FAS) offers specialist advice that provides practical, tailored support to help you respond to these challenges. The Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation specialist advice provides guidance on improving energy and resource efficiency, exploring renewable energy options, adapting land management to cope with extreme weather, and identifying ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

If you have already completed a carbon audit, support is also available through the Carbon Audit Action Plan specialist advice, which can help businesses take the next steps and implement meaningful changes.

With up to £3,200 of funding available for up to two specialist advice topics, you can access expert guidance tailored to your business needs, helping you put practical changes into action and build long-term resilience. To find out more or apply, visit the Specialist Advice page or contact advice@fas.scot or 0300 323 0161.
