Women in Agriculture – Orkney (pm) – Event Summary

17 April 2018

The Women in Agriculture Knowledge Transfer meeting was held in Kirkwall recently led by local Agricultual Consultant Susan Pirie.

Nina Clancy, CEO from RSABI attended and gave an overview of the taskforce involved in launching the programme and highlighted the importance of Women in Agriculture. Its work will be centred around the recommendations in the published Women in Farming & Agricultural Sector Research Report.

Three SGRPID staff came along to give the group a description of their roles within the local office and Hannah Casey from NHS Orkney worked with the group to identify causes and symptoms of deteriorating mental health. This was followed by a group discussion on how we can help people with deteriorating mental health.

Susan Pirie then wrapped up the session with thanking everyone for coming and contributing to the session.
