Selling your own produce

This series of three meetings will cover all you need to know to get started when considering selling your own produce from your croft or small farm, with the principle focus on meat products.

The first meeting will introduce the topic of marketing. Calum Johnston – Food & Drink Consultant from SAC Consulting will explain methods and ideas for how best to promote, value add products and to target markets all to get the most from selling your produce.

 

The second of a three meeting series that will focus on the mechanics of selling your own produce. This meeting will explore and discuss the principles about breeding and managing stock in order to obtain the best possible quality meat produce for selling. This will explore topics such as breeding and stock husbandry as well as a brief of targets that are required to be met for various markets.

 

The third and final meeting in the selling produce series will focus and discuss the topic of regulation. Key speakers will convey the regulatory elements that are essential when selling local produce. Coverage will include the pitfalls, overcoming problems and the methods required to ensure you get off to the smoothest start selling your meat produce.
