Slugs

Slugs cause significant damage to both winter and spring-sown rape by eating the cotyledons and first true leaves.  Slug damaged winter rape crops are more susceptible to damage from insect pests such as rape winter stem weevil and pollen beetle as the vigour of the crop is reduced, and its ability to cope with further pest damage is weakened.
