As global climate and environmental targets become an increasing priority, all sectors of the economy will have to participate in national strategies for low carbon transition.

Agriculture is no exception, but does present more complexity for 'decarbonisation' than many other sectors, as well as opportunity to provide a degree of carbon 'offsetting'. It can be easy to feel disconnected from high-level discussions around policy targets, but these do and will have direct impacts on options for day-to-day farm management, compliance and end markets of farm produce.

This section aims to provide concise and to the point information on relevant climate policy updates to Scottish agriculture, and suggestions for practical actions at the ground level.
