Farm Wildlife Walks – Berwickshire
Farming with nature at Oldcastles
(Please see map above or What3Words for exact location)
Two years ago the Farm Advisory Service launched the Farm Wildlife Walks initiative, an attempt to promote grass-roots conversations around nature conservation and the positive impacts of nature-friendly farming practices.
Join us at Oldcastles where the beef and arable enterprises are managed in a landscape rich in wildlife habitats. We’ll visit: hedgerows, field margins, wetlands, woodlands and ponds and discuss the value of having all of these habitats linked together for the benefit of wildlife.
The morning meeting will start with breakfast rolls at 9am followed by a tour of the farm and we’ll be finished in time to get you back in the combine by the afternoon! A farm visit not to be missed and a chance to see the farm habitats at their best.
