Local & Community Growing – Unlocking the Potential

Are you a grower, thinking about starting, a produce seller, community organisation, or simply interested in local food production?

Join us for an interactive evening exploring local growing in action. We will visit NCDC’s community growing plot, their Muckle Bruckland Polycrub, and local grower, Margaret Robert’s Polycrub, to see different approaches to food production and learn from local experience.

Following the visits, we’ll head back to the Ollaberry hall for a bite to eat before taking part in a discussion on how we can strengthen community and local growing. Together we’ll explore ways to make local food production more viable, identify barriers that prevent people from growing, selling or buying local produce, and discuss practical solutions that can help our communities thrive.

Whether you’re already growing, thinking about starting, selling local produce, or representing a community group, we’d love to hear your ideas and experiences.

Meet at 6pm sharp at the Ollaberry Hall. We’ll go to the growing sites in as few vehicles as possible as there is limited space for parking.

Please dress for the weather as we will be outdoors.
