Small Scale Horticulture Using Organic Methods
If you already grow veg and would like to reduce use of synthetic fertilisers or pesticides, or are already growing using organic methods, or are a Certified Organic grower, we would love you to join Audrey Litterick for a discussion on organic growing of vegetable crops. We will talk about fertility, pests, weeds and diseases, and, most importantly, soil.
In this online meeting there will be plenty of opportunity for questions! Join us (camera on or off!) to discuss the practicalities of organic vegetable farming:
- Site and soil
- Range of crop types.
- Fertility building
- Crop rotation design.
- Crop rotation challenges
- Organic weed and pest control
- Polytunnel challenges
This is the first in a series of online meetings for smaller-scale growers on smallholdings and crofts. Our next meeting in October looks at the next steps – definition of organic, certification, marketing and selling of organic produce.
