Solution to Pollution – On Farm Pollution Risks

Most farms have opportunities on them for reducing diffuse pollution. This event at Mid Coul Farm has been designed to help you identify where those opportunities might lie on your own farm while seeing how others have addressed their own pollution risks.

A SEPA representative will be available for Q&A and to join us on a farm walk to identify and discuss the potential pollution risks on the farm and discuss ways to minimise any cross-compliance breaches that may be a threat. Mid Coul Farm makes use of a lot of digestate and runs an Anaerobic Digester on site, so there will be an opportunity to learn more about that as well.

Following the farm walk we will head to the Star Inn for lunch for an update from SEPA on the ongoing changes to slurry rules, with regards to spreading and storage.

This is a great opportunity to do a sanity check of your own farm business and speak directly with the people setting regulations.

A certificate will be issued at the end of the event, so it’s a great opportunity for CPD.
