Strategic Cereal Farm Scotland: Soil secrets with Joel Williams
Join AHDB for the second Strategic Farm meeting of the year with host David Aglen, where AHDB will catch up on what has been happening at the strategic farm since the last meeting.
AHDB will be joined by Joel Williams, independent plant and soil health educator and consultant, to discuss how rethinking your business through the lens of biodiversity can help unlock hidden potential.
Bring a notepad and lots of questions, and expect actionable, evidence-based advice and practical solutions that you can implement on your farm.
What Will this Meeting Cover?
- Power of biodiversity made simple – from microbial ecology to temporal and spatial crop diversification – what are the straightforward, practical steps we can next take on-farm?
- Soil assessments, and plant & animal nutrition – how an integrated approach can unlock farm profitability and business resilience.
- Fertiliser strategy – unpicking the role of fertilisers in crop production and how to optimise uptake
Registration and refreshments will be available from 10:30am, with presentations commencing at 10:45am; lunch will be provided.
BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
The event is free to attend, but spaces are limited, so please register to secure your spot and to allow AHDB to cater accordingly.
