Sustainable Sheep Systems – Clynelish
Please use the above map for an exact location.
The fourth round of the Sustainable Sheep Systems series is kicking off with an on-farm event this year. Join us at Clynelish Farm near Brora where we will have a farm ‘walk and talk’ to hear how Jason and Vic Ballantyne have developed an extremely low input system where no concentrate feeding is used for their 650 ewe breeding flock.
We will discuss grazing systems, lamb survival rates, culling policy and worming strategy to reduce the risk of resistance and challenging traditional mindsets.
Their ‘leave well alone’ and ‘think like a sheep’ approach has been vital in evolving their sheep system to be highly productive on a small land area. A perfect example of a resilient and sustainable sheep system.
Please note this will be a primarily outdoor event, warm and waterproof clothing is advisable. Lunch will be provided.
Booking is essential as numbers will be capped.
