Farm Woodlands Information Note: Quick Guide to Short Rotation Forestry Species

In short rotation forestry an area is planted with the plan to coppice or harvest the timber crop when it has reached a set size or growth.  There are a number of different species suitable for short rotation plantations and this information note details some of the more commonly selected within Scotland.
