Forage Crop – Thankerton Camp Case Study

Michael Shannon farms 215 acres at Thankerton Camp Farm at the foot of Tinto in South Lanarkshire. Michael finishes 300 native bred cattle each year from forage with no concentrates with around half being marketed through his own butchery and farm shop, Damn Delicious.  Forage crops play an important role in reducing winter costs and ensuring that the cattle are 100% forage fed. Find out more about how the forage crops are grown and utilised at Thankerton Camp in this case study.
