Farm Wildlife Walks – Dumfries

Join us at Caerlaverock Estate, Glencaple, near Dumfries for the latest in our programme of FAS Farm Wildlife Walks.

Nestled along the Solway Firth, the Estate is a haven for waders, wildfowl, plants and invertebrates.  This meeting is an opportunity to discover how you can help protect and enhance local nature on your land, and hear about:

  • The network of wetlands, wildlife corridors and wildflower meadows that have been created as part of their Nature Restoration project.
  • Management of the Upper Solway Flats and Marshes SSSI and the use of no-fence collars to control grazing.
  • Plans for future habitat management.

Please wear clothing suitable for a farm walk.

Refreshments will be provided upon arrival.
