Going Organic – The Pros and Cons in Practice
An on farm event designed to explore the pros and cons of organic livestock farming from a practical perspective. Scottish Government funding for organic has increased recently, leading to increased interest from farmers and crofters. But how does farming organically work in practice?
We have brought together a range of speakers to explore the subject and share their experiences including Paolo Berardelli who has farmed organically in Lochaber for around 20 years, Joanna Sinclair from SOPA the organic certification body, the animal health impact will be covered by Kythe MacKenzie a SRUC vet, Niall Campbell SAC Consulting will cover the enhanced funding options and we will also have Jonny Williams from Farm Stock Scotland exploring how best to market organic livestock.
So if you have ever wondered what organic farming entails and if it work for you, this is a chance to get some practical answers from the people who know.
