Morayshire WiA: On-farm diversification at Barra Castle

For our first FAS Morayshire & Aberdeenshire Women in Agriculture meeting of the year we will visit the Stephen family at Barra Castle, Oldmeldrum.

To complement the suckler herd and breeding ewe flock on the 700 acre farm, husband and wife David and Sarah Stephen, have added several diversification projects including soft fruit polytunnels, a farm shop and café which uses fruit and vegetables grown on farm, three luxury self-catering lodges, and a wedding venue. We will tour the diversification projects and hear from Sarah how these enterprises have developed over the years and their vision for the future.
