What is the future of your croft?

Come along on Wednesday the 3rd September at Lochaber Rural Education Trust, Fort William, PH33 6SQ to hear about the options, pitfalls and opportunities for passing on your croft, or getting into crofting.

With three experienced speakers, we will be outlining:

  • Are you looking to take on the family croft – how do you make it official?
  • The options and methods to get into crofting
  • The help available from the Scottish Land Matching Service
  • When is a good time to hand over?
  • The differences between Lets, Sub-lets, Assignations and Transfers, and Splitting crofts, CG shares, Owner Occupied and Deemed Crofts
  • What happens to the croft upon the death of the crofter?
  • Wills and the differences between Testate and Intestate succession
  • Financial considerations in handing over or taking on a croft
