Taking the Plunge – Constructed Farm Wetlands

Book

Why store dirty water from the steading when you don’t have to? With the new amendments made to the Water Environment (Controlled Activities) (Scotland) Regulations 2011 businesses operating on a slurry system will be required to provide 22 weeks effective storage for slurry, so why add to that unnecessarily? With a constructed farm wetland you can discharge dirty water from the farm steading, taking pressure off existing slurry storage, meaning the farm can make best use of capacity they already have and increase the nutrient density of slurry stored. By kind permission of the Campbell family, the Farm Advisory Service invites you, Friday 30th September @ 11am to Low Ballees farm, West Kilbride as we discuss design, construction and benefits of constructed farm wetlands.
