Technology offers an increasing amount of solutions and shortcuts for everyday challenges on farm, collecting and digesting information to make it easier to identify and implement positive changes.

On farm technology can be relatively simple, such as cameras and sensors to monitor livestock at calving and lambing, or more complex systems such as GPS integration in machinery to enable precision nutrient application, or the emerging use of UAVs (drones) and remote sensing for detailed crop and nutrient yield mapping.

Technology can seem daunting to some but there is a range of practical information available that can help you understand what technology can do for you and what considerations to weigh up when selecting technologies. Over time, the Farm Advisory Service will cover a range of technologies to help equip businesses with the information they need to understand more about this developing area.
