Recognising and Mapping Habitats: Grassland Farms
Productive grassland farmlands support a wide range of different habitats, from wet rush pasture, to riparian buffer strips. These habitats work together as a mosaic providing homes to a diversity of species.
Agricultural policy is changing and the wide range of benefits that farmland habitats provide is becoming increasingly recognised. This workshop will focus on how to recognise and map habitats on your farm. The event is aimed to support land managers and their farm. To qualify for payments from 2025 land managers will be required to deliver a whole farm plan composed of soil testing, animal health and welfare declaration, carbon audit, biodiversity audit and supported business planning.
Join us at Lochhill Farm, Mauchline – Ayrshire – 1st September – for a workshop on how to recognise and map habitats on your farm. This event will help support farmers complete a biodiversity audit – required as part of the whole farm plan to be introduced in 2025.
