Final meeting of the Orkney Soil & Nutrient Network: What’s in your soil?

This webinar was the third and final meeting of the Orkney Soil & Nutrient Network (broadcast 15/12/2020) and for this meeting, the focus was on What’s living in your soil? The panel discussed what you could expect to find living in your soil and what roles the different life forms play. To put this into practice, we included an assessment of the biological health of the soil at Lyking and make suggestions on how it could be improved. Our guest speaker during this webinar will be SRUC’s Grassland Specialist, David Lawson. With his wealth of knowledge, David will discuss the composition of a productive sward and assess the benefits of introducing some novel plant species into the grass mixtures at Lyking.
