Sheep Abortions – What you need to know

In this video, Megan Fergusson, Veterinary Investigation Officer at SRUC talks about the main causes of sheep abortions – Toxoplasmosis and Enzootic Abortion (EAE) and provides some top tips on how to prevent abortions occurring in your flock. Megan will help you decide if your flock is at high risk or low risk of abortions, depending on your sheep system, to allow an educated decision to be made in conjunction with your farm vet on whether it is worthwhile protecting your flock by vaccinating for Toxoplasmosis and/or Enzootic Abortion (EAE).
