FAS TV S5 Episode 23
On this week’s FAS TV, we’re at Titaboutie farm in Aberdeenshire, a demo farm, testing ready for market agritech as part of the Opportunity Northeast project involving SAC Consulting.
Titaboutie is an upland rearer finisher farm, with a herd of 140 autumn calving cows, flock of 700 ewes, forage crops and some arable cropping. We hear from Peter Cook from Opportunity Northeast who discusses the aims and objectives of the project, and we learn how Dan Robertson and his father Andrew have integrated data collection into their everyday farming activities through EID cattle and sheep tagging and use of their Combi-Clamp to better improve their business efficiency.
FAS TV covers a wide range of topics across sectors, as well as regular updates on regulatory and policy changes.
In this Thrill of the Hill episode, we sit down with Senior Consultant and Lead on the Carbon Dynamics Knowledge Network, James Orr from SAC Consulting to explore what carbon reduction really looks like in upland and hill farming systems. James shares his perspective on the actions farmers can take now, the investments most likely to deliver benefits, and how measuring and understanding carbon footprints can support better decision-making.
